A luminous example of Liberty style in
Palermo, Villa Virginia was built between
1902 and 1908. This is the Villa that
inspired Eleonora Orlando to depict young
women, and ultimately use it as a setting
for her eponymous work. Their innocent
yet thriving sexuality and self-realization
are at the center of each portrait, making
this series a careful study of those
obliterated changes that take place in the life of a young woman.
