Research, reflections, attraction, fear and obsession. A constant doubting and questioning. This has always been my relationship with identity. How is nowadays an identity built? How do social and personal paths connect to each other in this process? Water Dreams of Itself is a book about these questions and it is an attempt to define and build a social and personal identity. The book is divided into four distinct and interconnected paragraphs, “Waithood”, “Bi”, “Boys Will Be Boys”, “Liquido” and it tries to define this identity exploration through an intersectional analysis which takes into account four kind of identity: generational identity, sexual identity, gender identity and individual identity. The result leads us to a reflection on what it means being contemporary in today’s world. A series of evocative and dream-like images with the aim of raising questions and provoking contemplation rather than giving simple responses.
